Venerable Leo Dupont, Apostle of the Holy Face

Leo Dupont was born in 1797 and eventually settled in Tours, France. He was a layman, husband, father, and widower whose deep Catholic faith matured into a life of prayer, charity, and apostolic zeal. He was especially grieved by the wounds left in society by unbelief, irreverence, and the neglect of God. His response was not bitterness, but deeper prayer and reparation.

Leo became connected with the Carmel of Tours and with the mission of Sister Marie of St. Peter.
