Bl. Frederick of Mariëngaarde

Blessed Frederick of Mariëngaarde was a Premonstratensian, or Norbertine, abbot in Friesland during the twelfth century. He is associated with the monastery of Mariëngaarde in the northern Low Countries, a region where religious houses played an important role in evangelization, education, agriculture, and the ordering of Christian community life.
